“Get Your Talk On”

Getting your talk on and so much more! Where we share our reality. A reality that speaks your dreams and desires, etching on that greater need to be heard. To have your voice carved out and heard in the echoes of the wilderness. Not a story that is hidden as if no one sees and hears you. Pulling you into a void of uncertainty as if there is no hope ahead. You are almost never heard and taken seriously

This blog calls you to journey and share that story you have always wanted to tell.  To stand on that perch and speak out, where at many times, we have been told to shut the fuck up!  Beaten down and trod upon by the constraints of religion, institutions, family, and friends.  The list of beat downs is a never-ending story of voices telling you to shut up.  As if you are nothing not worthy of anything else.  Constantly brooding on those piercing voices of blame questioning your sense of being.  As if each turn in life is a fate of failure after failure.

“Get Your Talk On” is my story.  It is your story.  Our experiences of tears, pain, failures, and successes traveled on the edge of uncertainty.  A meshing, interwoven of traditions and experiences, that crisscrosses and makes up everything that we are.  A kind of palm or flax mat symbolizing our stories of resilience, fortitude, hope, loss, and resurrection.  A flax mat of interconnectedness, reminiscing the past, present, hope, and vision.  A place where we can share experiences and figure out who we are and where we want to go from here.

“Get Your Talk On” invites you into a think tank basket of topical issues to have your voice and create your platform whatever that might be or look like.  This is a place to be.  To just be.  It is a blog calling us to share our voices, thoughts, reflections, experiences, and ideas around our LGTBQIA+ reality.

Indigenous peoples have a sense of looking backward while living the present that helps us foresee a hopeful future.  It is like looking out into the horizon having a sense of what is there.  Looking out into the plains calling upon our ancestors to guide us along the way.  Our blog “Get Your Talk On” is that horizon helping us to get there along the way.
